5 Day No Spend Challenge Day 5

Listen to today’s content:

Let’s be honest:
Even with the best tools, impulsive spending still happens sometimes — especially with an ADHD brain.

But here’s the shift that can change everything:
You don’t have to stop it completely. You just have to plan for it.

Today’s Focus: Build a “Dopamine Cushion”

Instead of trying to eliminate all unplanned spending, set aside a little money that gives you a safe place to land when the impulse wins.

We’re calling this your Dopamine Cushion — a small stash of money you can dip into on purpose when you’re having a tough day, need a treat, or want to spend impulsively without guilt.

This simple buffer takes you from:

😩 “I messed up again…”
to
✅ “I planned for this, and I’m still in control.”

Today’s Task: Set your spending buffer

  • Pick an amount that feels realistic — maybe $10, $25, or $50
  • Name it something playful (like “Treat Yo’ Self Fund” or “Impulse Jar”)
  • Decide where to keep it: a separate bank space, a cash envelope, or even a virtual category in your budgeting app
  • Contribute each time you get paid

This isn’t a failure plan. It’s a permission plan.

What’s next?

You’ve completed all 5 days — and whether you nailed every task or just opened the emails, you’ve started something.

I’ve enjoyed going on this journey with you and would love the oppertunity to work with you further!!!!!
